Our rabbits live on our family farm in Shepherdstown, WV in an insulated building, with plenty of windows for light and ventilation when the weather is mild. We also run a large HEPA filter 24/7 and keep plants in their building for air quality, and provide air-conditioning when the weather is warm. Each rabbit has his or her own private cage with free choice (unlimited) hay, pasture plants in season, mineral salt, fresh filtered water, safe chewing items, and a daily ration of herbal pellets and black oil sunflower seeds.
Our rabbits get time to roam and play daily either individually, or with other rabbits for those who get along with each other. We handle our rabbits regularly and encourage them to bond with humans. It is such a joy to earn their trust and see them pop up excitedly and prepare to interact with us when we come to see them! Our rabbits also are accustomed to cats and get along well with several of our cats, who help ensure there are never any rodents in our rabbitry.
